Details Learned During Autopsy

Sonora, CA — A forensic autopsy has been conducted on the body found Tuesday morning on Cottonwood Road.
The Sheriff’s Office says the victim was a Hispanic male in his early-to-mid-thirties. Though there was evidence the victim had been assaulted, none of the wounds were severe enough to be fatal.
Detectives are awaiting the results of a toxicology screen that may reveal the cause of death. The Sheriff’s Office says there is reason to suspect that the victim was connected to an illegal marijuana garden in the area.
Anyone that was around Cottonwood Drive Tuesday morning and noticed suspicious activity should contact the Sheriff’s Office at 533-5815.
