City Council Results Not Contested

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County election results from the June 8th primary are now final.
County Clerk Debi Russell says the five day deadline to request a recount has now passed, and there were no requests.
The closest race was for the second Sonora City Council seat where incumbent Hank Russell defeated challenger Jim Garaventa by only two votes.
Had someone requested a recount, the challenger would be forced to pay costs associated with it, unless the results changed the outcome of the race.
