A low pressure system will move over the Motherlode on Wednesday and Thursday, bringing cool temperatures and the possibility of light rain.
According to the National Weather Service, high temperatures in the Motherlode will only reach into the mid 70s both Wednesday and Thursday. Expect breezy conditions.
There is a small chance of rain, even some isolated thunderstorms, especially on Wednesday evening .
The Sierra Nevada mountains could see an inch or two of snow accumulation during this time. The snow level will be over ten thousand feet on Wednesday night before lowering to eight thousand to nine thousand feet by Thursday morning.
A warming trend will begin on Friday and carry into the weekend with temperatures in the Motherlode once again reaching into the upper 80s by Sunday.
