Calaveras Supervisors Approve Budget
San Andreas, CA– The Calaveras Board of Supervisors held the final hearings this week for the 2010/2011 budget. The final budget was approved that will help retain services and cut down costs in a number of departments. The cut of 4.6 percent in county employees salaries and adopting furlough days helped give extra money to the most needed county departments.
County Administrative Officer Jeanne Boyce said the board also discussed a number of proposals and adopted recommendations to put back funding for the Sheriff’s Office as well as funds to implement an electronic monitoring system that the Probation Department believes could reduce costs and benefit public safety.
