Making It A Safe Halloween
Sonora, CA– With Halloween just days away, the Sonora Police Department has some helpful trick-or-treating safety tips.
“Kids need to pay attention to traffic because there’s a lot more traffic out on the roadway”, said Police Chief Mark Stinson. “If there’s sidewalks available, make sure the children are walking on sidewalks and that they’re looking both ways before they cross traffic. Children should also never accept treats from anybody in a car, and children should always carry a flashlight.”
The Police Department also recommends that children wear costumes that are reflective so vehicles can see them, and to carry a cell phone to report any suspicious homes or activities to local authorities.
