Local High School Football
Sonora, CA– In high school football last night, Oakdale beat Sonora 49 to 20. It was Summerville over Linden 41 to 33, and Calaveras beat Bret Harte 49 to 14.
In Junior Varsity action last night, the Sonora High School JV football team cruised to a victory against the Oakdale Mustangs in Oakdale. The 40 – 6 margin over the Mustangs kept the Wildcats an undefeated 10 – 0 on the season. The game was dominated by the Wildcat running attack which scored on four different runs over 50 yards and a 5th running touchdown for 26 yards. Sonora also had a 60+ yard passing touchdown. The defense allowed some big plays by Oakdale early in the game, but stiffened near their own goal line and eventually shutdown the Mustangs completely.
