More Winter Storm Watches And Warnings
The National Weather Service has extended the Winter Storm Warning for both the Motherlode and the Sierra Nevada through 4am Monday. A Winter Storm Watch has also been issued for the Sierra Nevada from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
By Monday morning, one to two inches of snow may fall as low as 1800 feet. Four to nine inches of snow is expected above 2000 feet. Five to eleven inches of accumulation is possible at 3000 feet. One to two feet of snow is likely from 4000 to 5000 feet. Two to four feet of snow could fall above 6000 feet.
Winds of twenty-five to fifty mph are likely over the higher mountain ridges. Gusts of up to eighty-five mph are possible over the crest. Wind chills in the Sierra will be below zero.
