Tuolumne County Budget On Track
Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors planned for uncertain times when putting together the current fiscal budget, and CAO Craig Pedro says the county is projected to end the fiscal year in the black.
Pedro says the biggest surprise has been a sharp dip in development fees collected during the second quarter of the year.
Pedro says that during the Fall, “We saw about a $335,000 drop in anticipated revenue from these fees, but the contingencies we planned for are sufficient to financially cover the shortfalls.”
The County’s current budget stands at around $160 million. Pedro says it is still unknown what effect the recently approved Federal Stimulus Package will have on county government. There is also more to be learned about the exact effects of the state budget. The current fiscal year runs through the end of June.
