Stanislaus Will Open Personal-Use Fuel Season
Sonora, CA — Personal-Use Fuelwood season will begin Wednesday in the Stanislaus National Forest.
Spokesperson Pat Kaunert says permits will be available beginning Monday for those who would like to head out and cut their own firewood. There are fees, depending on how much wood the applicant plans to cut. A number of Forest roads have not yet opened for vehicle travel due to weather conditions. Early season woodcutters are reminded to contact their local ranger station regarding regulations and which roads are open for travel.
The season will continue until approximately November 30, depending on weather and road conditions.
