Two Killed In Accident Near Chinese Camp
Chinese Camp, Ca — Two people were killed in an accident on Hwy 120 near Chinese Camp just after 5:30pm Saturday.
CHP Sgt. Jim Jacobs says a Toyota SUV and a Honda Accord were traveling westbound on Hwy 120, and the Toyota collided head-on with an eastbound Dodge Intrepid. The Honda Accord then collided with the two other vehicles.
The CHP says it appears the westbound vehicles were attempting to pass over double yellow lines, and did not see the oncoming Dodge. Two people in the Dodge were fatally injured, and they are reportedly an adult male and infant child. Two others in the car were taken to a local hospital. The driver of the Toyota also sustained injuries and was transported for medical care.
Sgt. Jacobs says traffic going to and from Yosemite National Park will be diverted to the Montezuma Junction until approximately 9pm this evening. The names of those involved have not been released by authorities.
