Columbia Airport Ready For Father’s Day Fly In
Columbia Airport’s 43rd Annual Father’s Day Fly In will be taking place this weekend and will be a "Salute To Our Military". This year’s Fly In will feature demonstration flights by Cal Fire aircraft, warbirds and a variety of other airplanes.
Father’s Day Fly In spokesperson and pilot, Lorraine Martinelli, was Friday’s KVML "Nesmaker of the Day".
The Pancake breakfast both Saturday and Sunday starts at 7 am. On Saturday night there will be a tri tip dinner followed by an awards ceremony and musical entertainment.
Both Saturday and Sunday will feature the race car vs. the airplane event and on Sunday morning the pilots will hold a flour bombing and spot landing contest.
Vendors will be selling food and beverages, tee shirts, memorabilia and airplane rides.
KVML Radio’s Bill Johnson and Mark Truppner will be on location Saturday morning from 9am – noon. They will be giving away KVML travel mugs.
Entrance fee is $4.00 for adults and children 12 and under are free. People in military uniform are free. Parking is also free and available off South Airport Road.
