A Busy Monday For Mother Lode Firefighters
San Andreas, CA — According to CAL Fire Emergency Command Center Communications Operator Jim DeVoll Monday proved to be a busy day for Mother Lode firefighters with three fires.
At 10:51am there was a one acre burn at Frico City Rd. and Sheep Ranch Rd. That fire was extinguished in two hours. Cause was listed as a weed eater. Responding were five engines, one dozer and two hand crews from CAL Fire, an engine and a water tender from Central Fire Protection District, a water tender from Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District and all aircraft from Columbia Air Base.
At 6:01pm the Appaloosa Fire (514 Appaloosa Rd., Copperopolis)amounted to only a large spot. It was contained in 16 minutes. The cause was electrical. Response included eight engines, one dozer and two hand crews from CAL Fire, two engines and one squad from Copper Fire and all aircraft from Columbia Air Base.
At 11pm there was a large spot from a camp fire at Camp John Messinger. That fire was contained in just a matter of minutes. Response included six engines from CAL Fire and one engine from Tuolumne County Fire Station 55.
