Sonora Girls Soccer Team Clinches League Title
Sonora, Ca — The Sonora High Girls Soccer team has claimed its third straight Valley Oak League Championship.
The title was clinched with a 4-0 win over Oakdale Thursday evening at Dunlavy Field.
“Our defense has been a strength,” says Head Coach Buzz Garvin. “In our league games we have only allowed three goals, so clearly the defense has been a strength.”
The Sonora High girls have a record of 23-2-2. Sonora will open postseason play Tuesday, May 13 at home against Center of Elverta. Kickoff is set for 3:30.
If the squad wins it will play two days later at home. The District IV Championship game is scheduled for May 17th at Folsom High School.
