Calaveras Water Committee In The Works

San Andreas, CA — A Water Committee consisting of virtually every local entity involved in water issues is being formed in Calaveras County.
Tuesday the Board of Supervisors approved the county´s participation in the committee at the request of the Calaveras County Water District.
The board added a condition that all water agencies in the county be invited to participate.
District Director Bob Dean says the committee will be modeled after a similar one in Amador County. He says the group would address the General Plan update, groundwater and septic issues.
The committee would also look into a low-income program for ratepayers having to deal with the increasing cost of water regulations.
