And The Winners Are …

Sonora, CA — Eric Davis and Jim Mele were among the many winners Thursday evening at the 2007 Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce Installation and Honors Banquet at the Sonora Elks Lodge.

Davis was named as Entrepreneur of the Year for his management of the highly successful 16 year old Diamondback Grill which moved to more spacious quarters this summer. Lines continue to form outside the popular eatery even though seating space tripled.

First year Sheriff Jim Mele captured the Excellence in Government award from the Chamber. One of the many highlight´s of Mele´s first year in office (he’ll celebrate that anniversary Wednesday) has been the creation of Town Hall meetings where the department has been able to reach out and closely communicate with the Mother Lode public.

Two of the Student of the Year awards went to Samantha Domser of Summerville High School and Steven Rogers of Tioga High School.
