Sonora Resident Arrested On Drug And Stolen Property Charges

Sonora, CA — 45 year old Joyce Bernadette Michael of 19776 Waif Mine Rd. in Sonora was arrested Sunday by Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department Deputy Rod Hobbs on multiple drug charges and possession of stolen property.

Sunday Hobbs noticed a suspicious individual in the area of the Waif Mine Rd. residence. Hobbs then made contact with Michael and given her probation status elected to search her residence whereupon he discovered small quantities of methamphetamine along with evidence and indications of meth sales taking place at the residence. Also found were meth smoking pipes and a small quantity of marijuana.

In another portion of the residence a canvas bag with approximately 70 pounds of copper wire was discovered. Later the Sheriff´s Department received a report of a burglary on Little Fuller Rd. in Twain Harte that had occured either Saturday or Sunday. Among the missing items was a similar quantity of copper wiring in a green canvas bag.

Michael, arrested on previous drug charges July 28, 2007, was taken into custody and booked into the County Jail with a bail amount of $25,000.
