Poll Says Support Drops For Universal Preschool Initiative

Sacramento, CA — Opposition is growing for a ballot measure that would tax the wealthy to provide universal preschool for all California four-year-olds.
A statewide Field Poll released Saturday found that opponents of Proposition 82 now have a slight lead.
46 percent of likely voters now say they are likely to vote against the measure. 41 percent say they are in favor of it, and 13 percent remain undecided.
The measure proposes a 1.7 percent tax on individual incomes over $400,000 and couples´ incomes over $800,000.
