Columbia, CA — Columbia State Historic Park is the focus of a documentary on the California gold rush recently filmed by a company from the East coast.
Yellow Jersey Films, along with WGBH in Boston and KQED of San Francisco wrapped up the filming phase of the Public Television documentary Thursday and will begin the six-month editing process.
The two-hour film re-enacts the California gold rush through dramatizations based on diaries of area residents of the time.
Producers of the film chose the Columbia Diggin´s for its historical value and rustic atmosphere.
The project will be featured on a future edition of “American Experience” on PBS, although no exact air date has been set.
