First Farmers Market Was A Success
Sonora, CA — Hundreds of Mother Lode residents are enjoying the fresh produce they bought at the first Farmers Market of the season.
Market organizer Charlie Bashaw said people started showing up early Saturday morning. He said it was the biggest turn out he had ever seen for the first Saturday.
More than 30 vendors were selling goods on Saturday, complete with live entertainment.
A local music school gave their first public concert at the Farmers Market; the students were Kindergarteners through 8th graders, and for the most part beginners.
They hope to play their stringed instruments every other Saturday morning.
The Farmers Market will run every Saturday through the end of October.
