Modesto police are seeking suspects in two separate crimes from Thursday.

Just before noon Thursday, officials say three people were shot in their room at the Ecomony Motel. None of the injuries are said to be life-threatening.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, 5´9″ with a thin build and very short hair. Police have no motives yet for this shooting.

Then yesterday afternoon, Modesto police say a suspect tried to rape a young woman on West Rumble Road. She was not injured.

The suspect reportedly matches the description of other recent sexual assaults in the area: a white male, in his early 20s, roughly 5´6″ with short brown hair.

It´s the sixth such case of sexual assault or indecent exposure in the area since December.
