Hundreds of people showed up at San Francisco´s Presidio National Cemetery to honor those who gave their lives in military service. Yesterday´s Memorial Day ceremonies were standing room only.
San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown told the crowd to remember those who paid the ultimate price to protect the freedoms we enjoy. The ceremony included laying a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier and the reading of 148 names of military personnel killed in Iraq.
About 30,000 people who died serving the country are buried at the Presidio.
