The Sonora Union High School District got some bad news in the wake of Governor Davis´ state education budget cut proposal released this week. Many programs including the Beginning Teacher Support System and the Digital High School Plan will be drastically cut back if the proposed budget goes through.

These and other programs are already implemented for the fiscal year and may get cut back midstream. Gaskill believes these are just the beginning of many more cutbacks in local education that will be coming in the next few years.
