Second Murder Suspect Goes on Trial

Because of pretrial publicity in San Joaquin County, a man accused of five murders spanning more than 14
years will be tried in Santa Clara County. Loren Herzog reportedly told police he watched his friend Wesley Shermantine commit the murders but was too
afraid to report it. Shermantine was convicted of four killings and will be sentenced in May. Herzog´s trial begins July 30th.
