Fire Scorches Patch Of Grass In Utica Park
Sponsored by:
Angels Camp, CA — A small fire scorched a spot of grass in Utica Park Sunday.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but fire crews quickly put out the burn at around 9 p.m.
The 50 by 50 foot spot of grass was at the north end of the park where a display of old mining equipment is located.
That end of the park is full of wild grasses and if uncontrolled the fire could have threatened many homes.
There was also some minor scorching of nearby trees.
