Sonora, CA – Later this week, there will be a traffic alert as the undefeated Sonora Wildcats football team and cheerleaders celebrate their homecoming on the streets.
The City of Sonora will host the annual Sonora High School Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 10, 2025. Sonora Police want to remind motorists and pedestrians of traffic impacts. Sonora Police outline the parade route as southbound on North Washington Street/Highway 49 between Snell Street and Stockton Street, continuing on northbound Green Street and then Snell Street.
The parade is expected to last for around half an hour, starting at 2:30 p.m. and concluding by about 3 p.m. During the event, motorists will face temporary traffic diversions due to road closures that will include all side streets between Green Street and Stewart Street. Police advise that traffic control will also be in place at School Street and Wyckoff Street, with School Street closed at 1:30 p.m. for parade staging and preparation. Sonora Police ask, “Due to the impact on vehicle and pedestrian traffic during this event, we ask for your patience and that you use extreme caution when traveling in this area.”
For any road-related questions, call the Sonora Police Department at 532-8141.
