Sonora, CA – Downtown Sonora shut down this afternoon as crowds lined Washington Street for Sonora High’s Homecoming Parade.
The theme of this year’s homecoming is “Road Trip,” with each class designing their float with iconic landmarks from a well-known city. The freshman float depicted New York, the sophomores Nashville, the juniors Los Angeles and the seniors Las Vegas.
The cheerleaders made some noise cheering, and the football players enjoyed the recognition of being undefeated. Jeeps and Corvettes carried the homecoming court, and tonight the king and queen will be crowned.
The Golden Regiment Band had fans dancing in the street as it marched along. Following the parade, the band performed several songs in Courthouse Park with those gathered singing along and cheering the musicians on in hopes of a win on the gridiron tonight.
Tonight’s Sonora High School football game is against the Hughson Huskies with the dance directly after the game.
Summerville will play an away game at River Island tonight. The Summerville homecoming was September 19th with photos and more details here.
