Ironstone Hosts 10th Annual Concours d’Elegance
Murphys, CA — Saturday was the day that approximately 380 classic cars, including this red Apollo GT, motorcycles and even a couple boats were on display in the amphitheatre. Don and Glenda Sears of Tiburon, CA captured the “Car of the Show” award with their 1930 Packard 734 Speedster Phaeton. (Please see separate story for photos)
Cars from all over the west coast competed in 31 catagories including antique, vintage, American classic, Pierce Arrow, wood bodied cars, contemporary American cars (1946-1954) and, of course, Class H4: Corvettes.
Beautifully dressed “ladies of the era” added a touch of grace and elegance to the event.
4-H Clubs have always benefited financially from this event. This year the Future Farmers of America will also be receiveing monies. In addition, a $5,000 scholarship has been established through the California State Fair Program for students with broad personal, civic academic experience in their chosen field.
