Halloween; Anything But Quiet For The Sheriff’s Department

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — In addition to the shooting incident on Golden Dove in the Valponi Acres area of Jamestown, Tuolumne County Sheriff´s deputies were stretched to the maximum during Halloween evening.

Another subject at that location was arrested for driving under the influence.

Deputies also responded to two different neighborhoods reporting females driving too fast near the tricker-treaters. Gunfire was reportedly heard in at least two areas exclusive of Valponi Acres. Physical fighting was reported in Jamestown, on Race Track, in Groveland and at the Quail Hollow Apartments in Sonora.

Deputies also responded to multiple domestic disturbance calls. At least one arrest was made for spousal abuse. There was one report of eggs being thrown and various other juvenile related reports of pranks typical of Halloween.

Lt. Dan Bressler stated that due to the Golden Dove incident, deputies were not able to respond to several calls that were received.
