Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — A 10-year-old Sonora boy was airlifted to UC Davis following a motorcycle accident this weekend.

Jason Tanhauser was traveling on his 125cc Motorcycle on US Forrest Service Road 3N69. He collided head-on with a 1991 Jeep driven by Michael Kelley of Mi-Wuk. The accident occurred Sunday afternoon at approximately 1:05pm.

According to the Highway Patrol, Tanhauser suffered a fractured left femur. Thankfully, he was wearing a helmet. CHP Officer Brad Schultz says no charges have been filed at this time. There were conflicting statements as to who caused the accident.

Schultz says an officer is trying to look at all the physical evidence in an attempt to determine which driver was on the wrong side of the road.
