Board Of Supervisors Amend Cell Phone Tower Restrictions

Sonora, Ca — Restrictions have been relaxed on cell phone towers, freeing up approximately 42,000 acres in Tuolumne County for potential cell phone tower construction.
By a vote of four to zero, the Board of Supervisors voted to amend Title 17 of the ordinance code pertaining to wireless communication facilities.
Among the changes, the board has decided to broaden the service gap provisions, reduce the building setback/buffer area and allow towers to be located in RE-5 and RE-10 zoning districts.
