Supervisors Hear About New Commuter Program
Sonora, Ca — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors was briefed Tuesday about a new program designed to help commuters save money and help the environment.
Foothill Commuter Services is a joint effort between the Tuolumne County Transportation Council, the Calaveras Council of Governments and the Amador County Transportation Program.
Commuters can go to a website, and learn about options for carpooling to work areas in places like the Valley and the Bay Area.
Renee Chapman spoke to the Board, and said they are focusing on getting commuters to try it one day per week. If they try it, she believes they will quickly understand that this is a good idea.
It is free of charge to sign up. To learn more, you can click on www.foothillrideshare.com. The program went public in September.
