Moderate Earthquake Shakes Northern California

Truckee, CA — A light earthquake struck this morning several miles north of Lake Tahoe.
The 4.8 maginutude quake was felt by many residents in the Mother Lode. A Nevada County Sheriff´s Department dispatcher says it´s too soon to tell whether there were damages or injuries.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the shaker hit at 11:45 a.m. and was centered about 8 miles east of Truckee.
At Glenshire General Store in Truckee, workers say they prepared to dash out the door as the ground shook.
Store owner Tina Stull says it felt like a big, strong jolt, but nothing was knocked off the shelves.
