Calaveras Rejects New Fee For Developers

Calaveras County Supervisors have put a plan to levy a new fee on developers on the back burner.
A proposed resolution from 2nd District Supervisor Steve Wilensky to implement an extraction fee on developers to fund vocational programs at Calaveras High School got a chilly reception by the Board when they met in San Andreas yesterday.
Supervisors sent the idea back to staff for more research. 4th District Supervisor Tom Tryon says that while the idea remains under consideration, he doubts it will gain approval by the board in it current form.
