Water is now being trucked into the sprawling Sierra Conservation Center near Jamestown where the water has been muddied and the filters clogged. Ultra-low lake levels at Tulloch Reservoir, where the prison gets its water, combined with a deluge of rainfall has created a high silt content in the water. The sediment has clogged the filtering system at the prison and required officials to ration water use for showers, restrooms and cleaning. Another major storm system is settling over the Mother Lode this weekend and it isn´t known if that will help or hinder filtration of the water at the prison. The Sierra Conservation Center houses approximately 4,100 inmates.
