5 Fires On Monday Resulted In Major Damage

Sonora, CA — One home in Murphys is burned to the ground and another is badly damaged after a fire started on Jones St. close to 11:00pm last night.
Meanwhile, a family in Rancho Calaveras is salvaging what´s left of their home. CDF spokesman Craig Hart says the garage car and kitchen caught on fire causing more than $100,000 in damage.
Hart says there was a total of 5 reported fires Monday including a grass fire that burned 3 acres in Burson due to an electrical power line. The causes of the structure fires are still under investigation.
