Sonora Rotary Club To Sponsor Collection Event

Sonora, CA — The Sonora Sunrise Rotary Club along with Environmental Electronics Solutions will be giving local residents the chance to get rid of unwanted electronic waste this weekend.
The organizations are taking part in a new program that was established after the passage of Senate Bills 20 and 50.
The program is funded by surcharges collected by the state on new computer components and was created to encourage recycling of certain types of old electronic units such as television sets, computer parts, telephone equipment and fax machines.
Collectors will be taking those items from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday and Sunday at the High Sierra Sports Arena behind the P.G.& E. facility.
