CHP says the checkpoint will be staffed by officers with hand held breath testing devices.
CHP says drug recognition experts will also be on hand to spot drivers suspected of driving under the influence of illegal drugs.
CHP says the purpose of the checkpoint is to ensure public safety by removing alcohol and drug impaired drivers from the roads.
The checkpoint will reportedly be operated from 7:30 to 11:30 Friday night at an unspecified location.
