Crews Respond To Twenty-Four Acre Grass Fire

Sonora, CA — Officials say a fire on Highway 12 near Wallace burned about 24 acres of grass and oak woodland early yesterday afternoon.
Crews responded to the scene just before 2:00. Craig Hart with CDF says the cause of the blaze was related to a vehicle.
A total of five engines responded along with one water tender and a bulldozer. Two air tankers, a helicopter and two hand crews were also dispatched.
Damage to the landscape is estimated at about 48 hundred dollars and there were no injuries reported.
