Valley Springs Residents Present Mixed Feelings On New Project

Valley Springs, CA — Residents attending a town hall meeting in Valley Springs last night expressed mixed feelings on the proposed Spring Valley project.

Some saw the good in the 1000 home development that is set to include retail space, a hotel, a park and trail system, a school, and fire station.

Others said that kind of development doesn´t belong in Valley Springs. Some residents supporting the project pointed to the need for more shopping availability in the area.

Opponents expressed fear that the additional homes will increase traffic and congestion, while others said the growth is out of control.

Despite the mixed reaction, developer Ryan Voorhees remains hopeful about his project. He says his organization is getting a feel for the concerns of the public and he has heard some suggestions that will be considered for the project.

Voorhees says that over all, the public has embraced the idea of bringing the proposed development before area residents before presenting it to county officials.

Project planners hope to have plans into the county by the end of the year.
