Loss Of Scanner Did Not Stop Election Department Productivity

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County Election Officials and volunteers are a little weary today after a long night of counting ballots at Election Central.

All 75 precincts were totaled just after 11:30 last night. With close to 17,000 people voting County Clerk Tim Johnson says it was a pretty good turn out, despite some technical difficulties.

Johnson says a scanner went down just before the ballots came in, leaving only one machine to do all of the counting. He says that although there were some problems everyone pulled together and did a great job at both the polling locations and at Election Central.
