Tuolumne County Health Department Makes Flu Vaccine Available

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Health Department has announced the arrival of 500 doses of flu vaccine.

Programs and Services Manager Jill Castle says the vaccine is earmarked for those 60 and older and residents who are at high risk of getting the flu. The shots will be administered on a walk-in basis.

Castle says residents can walk into the department Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to get a shot.

Donations will be accepted or the department can bill Medicare, otherwise the shots are free of charge.

Castle says another shipment of vaccine may be available in January when flu season is at its peak. She says that´s why it´s important for those at risk to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

The health department is located on Cedar Road in Sonora.
