Weekend Brush Fires Keep Fire Crews Busy

Firefighters in the Mother Lode had a moderately busy weekend.
An acre of grass burned in a fire Saturday night along Harney Road in Jacksonville. No cause has been determined for that fire.
Three acres of grass and brush caught fire, due to smoking, on West Murray Creek Road in San Andreas just before 11am yesterday.
And around 1:45 yesterday afternoon, nine acres of grass burned at Crestview Drive and Burson in Calaveras County. Dispatchers say a weed eater was the cause of that blaze.
Officials remind residents to only use lawn implements like mowers and weed eaters during the cooler, moist morning hours.
