A former state prison guard was sentenced Monday to 14 years in federal prison for manufacturing child pornography, prosecutors said. Neil Leash, 48, of San Andreas, pleaded guilty in December to 11 counts of producing child pornography between 1991 and 1999, and one count of possession.

He was a correctional officer with the California Department of Corrections until he was arrested in September 2002 on state charges alleging he committed lewd and lascivious acts with minors.

He previously pleaded guilty to the state charges in Calaveras County and is awaiting sentencing there. He will serve his federal sentence before he begins serving any state prison term.
