Woman Threatens Self, Officers with Gasoline

A San Andreas woman is being held on more than 2-million dollars bail after threatening her own life and the lives of Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department with gasoline and a lighter.

It happened yesterday, at the Calaveras County Mental Health Building.

54-year-old Margaret Rambur showed up at the Mental Health center with a gas can and ligher just before 4pm, and reportedly was threatening to set herself on fire. Sheriff´s Department officials and a negotiator were sent to the scene.

As officers approached the woman, she allegedly threw gasoline into the air and onto the officers. Rambur then is said to have tried to ignite the lighter, but members of the Sheriff´s Department were able to get the lighter away from her.

Rambur now faces charges including attempted arson and attempted murder. No one was injured in the incident.
