This weekend ….it´s a tribute concert for Cornelius Bumpus.
The legendary saxophone player, who died of a heart attack on his way to play a concert series in the Motherlode, will be remembered on Sunday afternoon in the Sierra Building of the Sonora Mother Lode Fairgrounds.
The list of performers includes the Columbia Jazz Choir, Marvin McFadden of Huey Lewis and The News, Skip Mesquite and Mic Gillette of Tower of Power, and the Columbia Kicks Big Band with the “Bump Band” rhythm and blues tour group. Tickets are $20 and are available at the door for the 3 p.m. concert date.
