Chamber Issues Election Recommendations
The Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce has issued their organization´s endorsements for the up-coming March 2nd primary election.
The chamber´s board of directors voted to support all incumbents in the Sonora City Council race, but in the races for three Tuolumne County Supervisor seats — the Chamber board only endorsed District 5 incumbent Dick Pland.
The chamber board also opposes Proposition 55 and 56, says it has no position on Prop 57, but does endorse Prop 58 as a way of “sending a message to Sacramento to not spend more than what revenue is taken in by the state.”
A two-thirds majority of the chamber´s 19-member board is required to support a candidate. Propositions needed only a simply majority vote.
The voting was done last Wednesday during the chamber´s regular board meeting.
