Mail Thefts Spike in Copperopolis Area

Be sure you check your mail extra thoroughly, especially if you live in Copperopolis. Eleven incidents of mailbox vandalism and mail theft were reported last week. Community or “cluster” mailboxes in the Copper area were targetted, along with the post office. Officials suspect the thefts are related and possibly were all committed on the same night. It´s suggested that residents double check their financial statements, since theives look for checks, credit card statements, and other documents commonly used in identity theft.
