Grapes Stomped In Murphys Saturday

In Murphys, hundreds heard the squishy sounds of the stomping of grapes at the 11th Annual Calaveras Grape Stomp.
Craig English and Chris Rasmussen won their heat in the Grape Stomp competition.
They said it´s not often they get the chance to be part of this kind of event… only “when our wives let us, or when we go up against them.”
It turned out their wives indeed were stomping right next to them, and didn´t do quite as well.
“Oh, they were like fifth place or something like that,” Rasmussen stated.
“They like to think they´re in the running, but they´re not,” agreed English.
The Calaveras Grape Stomp was the 11th such annual event. There´s been no official declaration of a winner.
