Road Information In Fire Areas

Some roads in the Mother Lode continue to be affected by the recent fires. According to the U.S. Forest Service Fire Information Center, traffic on Forest Road 1N07 at Cherry Lake Road is controlled. This closure will remain in effect though the weekend.

Forest officials say Cherry Lake is open and can be accessed via Cottonwood Road out of Tuolumne City.

According to the forest service, restricting traffic is important for providing safety to the public and firefighters associated with the management of the Early wildfire.

County roads in the Sheep Ranch area of the Mineral and Armstrong fires, and in the Circle 20 subdivision in the western portion of Calaveras County near the Hunt fire have now been reopened to traffic. The evacuation advisory for the Hunt Road area has also been lifted.
