Westerfield Tape Played

The trial of David Westerfield continues today in San Diego. Jurors heard Westerfield´s voice for the first time yesterday since trial began last week. Prosecutors played a taped interview in which Westerfield recounts a long trip in his motor home he says he took alone, right after Danielle disappeared. He can be heard at one point describing “this little place we were at” as he discussed with police his trip to the beach and desert. Westerfield is accused of snatching seven year old Danielle van Dam from her home and then killing her, leaving her nude, decomposing body along a rural road.
